There is a structure or framework that is is immediately noticeable in the Genesis narrative. Creation is described in 1:2 as “formless” and “void.” Genesis 1 describes how God brings order to what is formless and fills that which is void. How God chose to do things in Genesis was intentional and should be instructive to His people. Throughout the Bible we see that God works things out over time, beginning things and bringing them to their fulfillment. This is true both on a cosmic scope, but also in the details and circumstances of our lives.
